For the pistachio milk you need:
- 1 cup of raw pistachios @delalba
- 6 cups of water
- Sweetener to taste (can be vanilla, sugar or honey)
Remove the shell from the pistachios and wash them well. Blend the pistachios in a blender with a cup of water. Once shredded, reduce speed to minimum for 20 seconds. Add a cup of water and keep mixing. Heat two cups of water and add them to the milk. Strain the milk through a very fine mesh or a cloth strainer so that your milk is without residue. Re-beat the milk at low speed and add two cups of water. Once mixed, the milk is ready to drink.
Pistachio milk is an excellent heart-healthy drink due to its monounsaturated fats and oleic acid.
